Taking an early morning and evening drive, and resting during the heat of the day,
provides the best opportunity to see game. What you see depends on the season, but the
Kasenyi plains are excellent for sighting lions and large herds of Uganda kobs. The Mweya

Rwenzori Mountains. Mweya is one of the best places to look for leopards, which live in
the dense, scrubby thickets. Overnight: Mweya Safari Lodge. (b,l,d)

cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Kazinga is home to one of the greatest concentrations of
hippos in Africa and herds of elephants, buffaloes and other animals come to drink at the
water’s edge. The Channel is a magnet for waterbirds, with great flocks of pelicans and
others birds on the shore, and a great spot to see African fish eagle. Overnight: Mweya
Safari Lodge. (b,l,d)

Gorillas, Wildlife & Chimps
Uganda is where the East African savannah meets the West African jungle. In this uniquely lush destination, you can see lions
prowling the open plains in the morning and track chimpanzees through the rainforest undergrowth the same afternoon.
Witness great numbers of hippos in the lakes and gorillas in the misty mountains and dense rain forest. Uganda is the only
safari destination whose range of forest primates is as impressive as its selection of plains antelopes. Besides the wide
biodiversity, Uganda is also blessed with a vast bird population of more than 1,000 species.
