Wildlife & Chimps Wildlife & Chimps

3 Nights

In the uniquely lush destination of Uganda, you can see lions prowling the open plains in the morning and track chimpanzees through the rainforest undergrowth the same afternoon.

Witness great numbers of hippos in the lakes and gorillas in the misty mountains and dense rain forest.

Uganda is the only safari destination whose range of forest primates is as impressive as its selection of plains antelopes. Besides the wide biodiversity, Uganda is also blessed with a vast bird population of more than 1,000 species.

Day 1 Entebbe - Queen Elizabeth National Park

Met on arrival at Entebbe Airport by our representatives and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park (400km - approximately 7 hours). En route stop at the royal drum makers and stand astride the Equator.
Overnight: Kyambura Gorge Lodge.
Meals : Lunch and Dinner

Day 2 Queen Elizabeth National Park

Taking an early morning and evening drive, and resting during the heat of the day, provides the best opportunity to see game. What you see depends on the season, but the Kasenyi plains are excellent for sighting lions and large herds of Uganda kobs. The Mweya peninsula offers excellent game drives with magnificent views across the water to the Rwenzori Mountains. Mweya is one of the best places to look for leopards, which live in the dense, scrubby thickets.
Overnight: Kyambura Gorge Lodge.
Meals : Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 3 Queen Elizabeth National Park

The Kyambura Gorge is an extraordinary natural environment where you can track one of our closest animal relatives, the chimpanzee. The chimp population is quite mobile and viewing can be unpredictable but the walk itself is enchanting. In the afternoon take a cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Kazinga is home to one of the greatest concentrations of hippos in Africa and herds of elephants, buffaloes and other animals come to drink at the water's edge. The Channel is a magnet for waterbirds, with great flocks of pelicans and other birds on the shore, and a great spot to see African fish eagles.
Overnight: Kyambura Gorge Lodge.
Meals : Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 4 Depart

Leaving the Kyambura Gorge, set off back to Kampala and Entebbe Airport for your onward flight.
