Experience the principal heritage sites of Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle, before heading to the hills in traditional tea country. As your stay comes to an end, take some time out on a tropical Indian Ocean beach.

Day 1 Negombo

Met at Colombo International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Negombo. Spend the remainder of your day exploring this historic city.
Overnight: Jetwing Blue.

Day 2 Sigiriya

Drive inland to the Cultural Triangle, a melting pot of heritage, culture and wildlife and home to a wealth of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In the afternoon, visit the 5th Century Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of Sri Lanka's World Heritage Sites and one of the island's most awe-inspiring archaeological attractions, perhaps the most fantastic single wonder on the island.
Overnight: Aliya Resort.

Day 3 Polonnaruwa - Minneriya - Sigiriya

Drive to Polonnaruwa, another World Heritage Site, containing the well-preserved monuments of the medieval capital of Sri Lanka, located amongst undulating woodland. The well-preserved ruins of Polonnaruwa tell a story of Buddhism, royalty, kinship, war and power, and provide you with the opportunity to experience the grandeur of this period and marvel at the artistry of the island's early craftsmen. In the afternoon visit Minneriya National Park for a jeep safari. Return back to Sigiriya.

Day 4 Kandy

Depart for Dambulla, another World Heritage Site and home to the marvellous cave temples whose walls are covered with murals exceeding 21,000 square feet. Depart and head south towards Sri Lanka's spectacular hill country. Visit the Kandy Temple which houses the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha.
Overnight: Earls Regent.

Day 5 Nuwara Eliya

In the morning, visit the Royal Botanical Garden at Peradeniya, Sri Lankan's largest and finest gardens. Originally established as a pleasure garden for Kandyan nobility, the British transformed it into botanical gardens in 1821, laying the foundations for what it has become today. Depart for Nuwara Eliya. The most scenic drive in the country as you pass through tea country with the mountains carpeted in tea, numerous waterfalls and tea pickers. En route, stop at a tea factory to see the processing and taste some of Sri Lanka's famous tea.

Days 6-8 Bentota Beach

City tour of Nuwara Eliya is the centre of 'Little England', with British influences clear throughout the town. In this quirky market town, enjoy a stroll in Victoria Park, wander alongside ponies on the high street and enjoy strawberries and cream from the local market gardens. Continue your journey to the beautiful beaches of Sri Lanka. Relax for the last 3 nights at the Avani Bentota Resort & Spa.

Day 9 Depart

Transfer to Colombo International Airport for your onward travel arrangements.
Meals : Breakfast
