Mr and Mrs Wood visited India for the first time this year. They chose this fascinating country as they had a specific interest in architecture and culture. They flew into Delhi and their destination highlights included touring around Delhi, Agra and\u00a0Classic Rajasthan<\/strong><\/a>, which included Mandawa, Gajner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Pushkar and Jaipur, which they covered over an incredible 3 weeks.<\/p>\n

1. \u00a0Was this your first time visiting India? What made you decide to visit?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This was our first time visiting India and we were particularly interested in all the architecture and culture.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. \u00a0What was on your itinerary?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

We visited as many sites as possible, concentrating on lots of places in Rajasthan and ‘The Golden Triangle.’<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

3. \u00a0Where did you stay whilst on your trip and what was your favourite property?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

We stayed at a wide variety of hotels in India, our favourites being the Gajner Palace,\u00a0a lakeside palace complex adjacent to a sanctuary, in the middle of the Thar Desert, and the Raas Devigarh, a boutique 5 star hotel in Devigarh, Udaipur.<\/span><\/p>\n

4. \u00a0 \u00a0What were your highlights from your trip?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Taj Mahal<\/p><\/div>\n

The highlight for us was the Taj Mahal in Agra. It was so much better than expected even though it was really busy.<\/span><\/p>\n

5. \u00a0 Do you have any advice or tips for anyone thinking of going to India?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I would advise people to carry plenty of low denomination notes for tips and say hello to everyone. Use plenty of sun cream and carry a light scarf for visiting temples. Drink lots and lots of bottled water.<\/span><\/p>\n
