In this edition of \u2018Spotted on Safari\u2019 we are delighted to share some amazing photos and a video from the annual wildebeest migration in Kenya, taken by our driver guides, Martin, Dan and Dedan, who have a keen eye for photography and are extremely knowledgeable.<\/p>\n

Seeing the annual migration is a once in a lifetime experience and one to definitely add to your bucket list, as it\u00a0is considered one of the \u201cSeven New Wonders of the World.\u201d It is one of the greatest spectacles on earth.<\/p>\n

In terms of timing, usually between April to July the wildebeest start moving north towards the Masai Mara in search of greener pastures, as well as seeking out the next watering hole. Most gravitate towards the Mara River for the water supply.<\/p>\n

More of this migration continues until around November, so going on a safari is highly recommended then to be able to see them all in abundance. Daniel Thuo captured this series of images of these wildebeest leaping, whilst in the midst of their migration, which are just magnificent and shows his incredible talent and knack for perfect timing.<\/p>\n

From the Ashnil Mara Lodge, in the Masai Mara, we were lucky to receive these fantastic photos of the wildebeest all congregated around a hippo pool.<\/p>\n
