In this week\u2019s Spotted on Safari, we are delighted to share some fantastic photos from Bushra Sultan, Managing Director of Somak Safaris Kenya, from her recent trip to Uganda, where she visited Queen Elizabeth National Park as well as enjoyed Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking.<\/p>\n

Uganda is one\u00a0of Africa’s smallest countries and home to some of its biggest stars, including mountain gorillas, chimpanzees and the thunderous River Nile. With landscapes of the utmost beauty, including rich rainforests, breathtaking gorges and striking savannahs, Uganda leaves an everlasting impression.<\/p>\n

The sight of a shy, seven foot silverback and his children playing in the branches above has to be one of Africa’s greatest experiences, and Bushra was lucky enough to experience seeing silverbacks as well as chimpanzees.<\/p>\n

Pictured above are chimpanzees that she saw in Kibale Forest National Park. She told us that they had walked for 2 hours before seeing them and it was an amazing experience.<\/p>\n

Lions in trees seem to be a lucky sighting with the Somak team recently – Bushra saw these lazy lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park.<\/p>\n

The most exhilarating experience of all was finally seeing the silverbacks after a trek in the forest!<\/p>\n

She found this to be a superb experience and one that she would definitely do again. She said that it was one of those experiences that words could not aptly describe, the sheer feeling of seeing them in the forest, and so close as well.<\/p>\n
