The wild parks of Southern Tanzania are not as well known as their more famous northern counterparts, but that is no bad thing! Travellers can expect to stay in exclusive and small lodges away from the madding crowds, so far away in fact, that you can easily enjoy an entire day of game driving and not see a single soul on a Southern Tanzania Safari.<\/p>\n

The safari adventure keeps getting better; animals are not fenced in so they are truly wild, and driver guides are able to drive off-road so that safari-goers can get up-close to the animals or just sit and watch them in their natural habitat. Add to this, boat safaris and wild, bushy landscapes where part of the adventure is looking for the game, and a Southern Tanzania Safari soon becomes very similar to a\u00a0Botswana<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>safari\u00a0but with a more appealing price tag.<\/p>\n

There are two main national parks in this hidden corner of the Southern Tanzania safari circuit that are both equally remote, but just a short flight from each other.<\/p>\n

The Selous Game Reserve<\/a><\/span> is one of the largest natural wilderness areas in Africa that has remained relatively undisturbed by human impact and has subsequently become an immense sanctuary for wildlife. Here you can expect to see large numbers of elephants, black rhinos, cheetahs and giraffes amongst many of the wildlife species.<\/p>\n

Ruaha National Park <\/a><\/span>has even fewer lodges than Selous and is the quieter of the two parks, with it being a little more off the beaten-track. Travellers are certainly rewarded for their efforts with stunning landscapes playing host to superb predator concentrations and large elephant and buffalo herds.<\/p>\n
