Luxury Belmond Safari Luxury Belmond Safari

8 Nights

This wonderful 5-star, 8-night tour reveals the main highlights of Botswana along with the mighty Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

Your first port of call will be Zimbabwe where you can witness the majesty of the world-famous Victoria Falls. There is plenty to do in the area from heart-stopping bungee jumps, white water rafting, scenic flights over the Falls, to the much more genteel village visits and souvenir shopping.

Then onto Savute in the Chobe National Park where the wildlife is prolific and the scenery breathtaking. Lions, leopards, wildebeest, zebras, buffalos and huge herds of elephants are amongst the animals living here. Whitewashed skeletal trees set against green grass and huge blue skies, blinding red sunsets, and endless horizons that fade into a hazy mirage in the heat, are just some of the visual treats in store.

The Khwai Community Area is next. Unlike in the national parks, here you can go off-road for closer looks at sightings, you can enjoy night drives in search of nocturnal species, and you can even have game walks in search of smaller animals and insects.

Finally, the Okavango Delta, a vast waterlogged oasis rich in wildlife and birdlife, in the middle of the Kalahari Desert.

Days 1-2 Victoria Falls

On arrival at Victoria Falls airport, you will be met and transferred by road to the Victoria Falls Hotel where you will stay for two nights. Take part in some of the many optional activities like 'The flight of the Angels', a helicopter ride over the Falls with breathtaking views.

Days 3-4 Savute, Chobe National Park

After breakfast, transfer to Kasane Airport for your light aircraft flight to Savute in the Chobe National Park, where you will stay for two nights. Your days will be spent exploring the Chobe National Park in open 4X4 safari vehicles led by professional guides, plus birding, stargazing and a visit to see Bushmen paintings. The luxurious Savute Elephant Lodge lies in the heart of the Chobe National Park, perched on the banks of the sometimes dry, sometimes wet Savute Channel, and is a superb base from which to explore the region.
The lodge has just 12 lavishly appointed canvas tents, which are air-conditioned, have en suite bathrooms, dressing areas and private viewing decks with views overlooking an adjacent waterhole.

Here you will spend your time exploring the narrow Khwai River, which is a beacon for wildlife such as leopards, lechwe, lions, impala, crocodiles and much more. Here you can even enjoy night game drives and game walks.
Khwai River Lodge, situated in the Khwai Concession, overlooks the vast Khwai River floodplains across to the Moremi Game Reserve. It is a regular host to elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, cheetahs and wild dogs. There is also an abundance of birdlife to admire.

Days 7-8 Okavango Delta

After breakfast, another light aircraft flight will take you to the Okavango Delta, then transfer to Belmond Eagle Island Lodge. Here you will enjoy boat cruises, barge sundowners, mokoro trips on the lookout for wildlife and walking safaris (all seasonal). You can also enjoy a complementary scenic helicopter flight over the Okavango Delta.
Belmond Eagle Island Lodge is situated on the island of Xaxaba, overlooking a lagoon fed by the tranquil waterways of the delta. The Xaxaba area is one of the Delta's most pristine natural locations, a region of many waterways, palm tree covered islands and vast flood plains.
The lodge has twelve luxury tents sitting on raised wooden platforms. The air-conditioned tents have four poster beds, en suite bathrooms, and large private decks with easy chairs and a hammock, ideal for viewing the passing wildlife or for enjoying a private dinner.
