Historically, our biggest source market has been the UK but recently we have been very successful in sourcing clients in North America, Europe and The Middle East. As an independent, long haul tour operator we continue to prosper and are a market leader in many of the destinations that we feature. Reservations Consultant

Although previous experience in the travel industry is not essential, we will expect successful applicants to have a polite and confident telephone manner as well as an effective approach to building rapport and forging excellent client relationships. Previous experience in a telephone sales environment would be advantageous. Some formal on-site training will be conducted on all products/services and successful applicants will also be expected to complete a self-study programme that will enhance and develop knowledge of all the destinations that are featured. The ability to multi task and quickly interpret a large volume of complex information is essential whilst communicating confidently and effectively with clients over the phone and face to face. Reservations Consultants need to have the ability to exactly match the most appropriate travel products with the client's individual and unique needs, no matter how complex the requirements are, and exceed their expectations at every opportunity. This position will involve overseas travel.

Commercial Analyst

The Somak Travel Group operates several businesses in the UK, USA and Africa and the commercial relationship between all these businesses is complex. It requires a deep understanding of the (often changing) functions of each business as well as its relationship with its source market coupled with the cultural and legal limitations that might exist in a particular business's home market. The work will be varied and will involve analysing and probing some of the existing processes with the aim of delivering a better customer experience more efficiently. Extended stays at our offices in Nairobi and New York will be required but your main place of work will be in Harrow.

Digital Marketing Manager

We are looking for a Digital Marketing Manager to develop, implement, track and optimize our digital marketing campaigns across all digital channels. We are looking for two candidates that have strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking as well as individuals that are highly creative. Being able to identify target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate will be central to this role.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Plan and execute all web, SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns
  • Design, build and maintain our social media presence
  • Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies
  • Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create landing pages and optimize user experience
  • Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points
  • Instrument conversion points and optimize user funnels
  • Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners
  • Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate
