Zambian Walking Safari

Set in the South Luangwa National Park, these remote camps offer an unmatched wilderness experience where the African walking safari was pioneered. The camps are ideal for those seeking a remote bush experience coupled with great hospitality and spectacular opportunities to explore. The camps all offer elegant and tastefully decorated chalets/tents all en suite with shower and toilet.

DAY 1 LONDON-LIVINGSTONE
Fly from Heathrow overnight via Johannesburg to Livingstone.

DAY 2 LIVINGSTONE
Transfer to the hotel situated within walking distance of the Falls. In the late afternoon take an included sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. Overnight: Zambezi Sun.

DAY 3 LIVINGSTONE
Meet your guide and walk the short distance to the Victoria Falls for a guided tour. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight: Zambezi Sun. (b)

DAY 4 LIVINGSTONE-SOUTH LUANGWA
Fly via Lusaka to the South Luangwa National Park and transfer to your Lodge. Your stay includes all meals, laundry, tea/coffee, park entry fees and game viewing activities. Overnight: Mfuwe Lodge. (b,l,d)

DAY 5 SOUTH LUANGWA
Transfer to one of the five exclusive bush camps in one of the last unspoilt wilderness areas of Africa. All the camps are fully inclusive of all meals and activities. Overnight: Bush Camp. (b,l,d)

DAY 6 SOUTH LUANGWA
Experience the thrill of the traditional walking safari. Explore this magnificent wildlife sanctuary on foot and by night time game drives. Overnight: Bush Camp. (b,l,d)

DAY 7 SOUTH LUANGWA
A second day of unforgettable journeys, on foot, through the magnificent wonders of the untouched African bush with your guides and scouts. Overnight: Bush Camp. (b,l,d)

DAY 8 SOUTH LUANGWA
After a final day in the bush we drive you back to Mfuwe Lodge for your last night in the Luangwa Valley. Overnight: Mfuwe Lodge. (b,l,d)

DAY 9 SOUTH LUANGWA-LUSAKA
Bid farewell to Africa and transfer to Jeki airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Lusaka where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight: Southern Sun Ridgeway Hotel. (b)

DAY 10 LUSAKA-HEATHROW
Transfer from the Hotel to Lusaka airport for your flight to Heathrow. (b)

This suggested itinerary departs from the UK on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.

The South Luangwa Camps and Lodges close during the rainy season from mid November to the end of March each year.

Baggage is restricted on internal flights to 15kg per person in soft sided bags.
