Rovos Rail Pretoria-cape Town

Since its first journey in 1989 Rovos Rail has earned a reputation for world-class service.
The 'pride of Africa' offers regular two-night journeys between Pretoria and Cape
Town, and also from Cape Town along the Garden Route.
DAY 1 - PRETORIA
Depart Pretoria in the late afternoon. Time to get
acquainted with your train before dressing for
dinner. (d)
DAY 2 - KIMBERLEY
Arrive in Kimberley after breakfast & visit the Big
Hole, Diamond Museum and take a tram ride.
Then continue south via De Aar and Beaufort West
for Matjiesfontein. (b,l,d)
DAY 3 - MATJIESFONTEIN
Early morning visit to the historic village of
Matjiesfontein. Afterwards proceed via Trouws
River, De Doorns & Worcester to Cape Town -
arriving in the early evening. (b,l)
TRAIN DETAILS
Rovos trains carry a maximum of 72 passengers in 36 superbly appointed suites. All have a restaurant
carriage, observation car & lounge. Dining is on fine china and guests are requested to dress accordingly
in the evening. Dress is more casual during the daytime.
There are three types of suites on board. Pullman suites are air-conditioned
and have a foldaway bed & private shower. Deluxe suites which offer wood panelling, period Edwardian
furniture & a hairdryer, plus royal suites which are more spacious and offer a private lounge area & a full
Victorian bath, are also available.
