A 6-night self-drive tour starting at Johannesburg and visiting Madikwe Game Reserve and Sun City.

Madikwe Game Reserve is malaria-free and offers prime game viewing including lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and rhinos plus the opportunity to see the rare and endangered wild dog which is key sighting on any game viewers list.

At Madikwe River Lodge children under 12 will be accommodated on special children's game drives. At Tuningi they have a special children's programme at the lodge for children aged 3 to 12 years, and children under the age of 8 get to do their own version of a game drive.

Known as 'Africa's Kingdom of Pleasure', Sun City offers superb accommodation, entertainment, casinos and extensive sporting facilities including the Gary Player Golf Course. Leisure facilities include a 'Water World' offering a full range of water sports and the Valley of Waves.

Kamp Kwena Fort offers a fun-filled children's programme for ages 4 - 12 with two sessions daily and for teenagers aged 13 - 17 there is the Club Chirp which offers a secure environment for teens looking to meet new people and make new friends.

DAY 1 HEATHROW-JOHANNESBURG
Fly from Heathrow overnight to Johannesburg.

DAY 2 JOHANNESBURG-MADIKWE
On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport collect your hire car and take the four hour drive to Madikwe Game Reserve. In the afternoon enjoy your first game drive, conducted in an open safari vehicle with an experienced ranger. Overnight: Tuningi Safari Lodge. (l,d)

DAY 3 MADIKWE
Explore the Madikwe Game Reserve in open-sided 4x4 vehicles in search of the 'big five' on your included morning and afternoon game drives. Overnight: Tuningi Safari Lodge. (b,l,d)

DAY 4 MADIKWE
A second day of game drives in search of the lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and rhinos that inhabit the Madikwe Game Reserve. In between game drives you can relax and take advantage of your lodge's facilities. Overnight: Tuningi Safari Lodge. (b,l,d)

DAY 5 SUN CITY
After your final morning game drive and breakfast, take the two hour drive to the Pilanesberg Mountains and Sun City. Overnight: The Cascades Hotel. (b)

DAY 6 SUN CITY
Let your children make new friends at the Kamp Kwena Fort while you explore the National Botanical Gardens and Pilanesberg Mountains, or enjoy a round of golf on the Gary Player course. Overnight: The Cascades Hotel. (b)

DAY 7 SUN CITY
Enjoy the final day of your holiday with your children at the Valley of Waves, Africa's only sub-tropical water adventure park, boasting an 8.5 million litre wave pool with 2 metre waves! Overnight: The Cascades Hotel. (b)

DAY 8 SUN CITY-HEATHROW
After a leisurely breakfast, check out of your hotel and make your way back to Johannesburg International Airport where you drop off your hire car prior to your return flight to Heathrow. (b)
