Desert Symphony

Windhoek is a very compact town, and all of the main places of interest in the town centre can be easily reached on foot. There are several walking
tour routes around the town covering the main places of interest, and a map can be picked up at the Tourist Information Office.
The huge red sand dunes at Sossusvlei are the most visited tourist attraction in Namibia and are part of the Namib Desert, one of the oldest deserts
in the world which stretches along the western part of Namibia along the coast and up in to the south west of Angola.
Surrounded on three sides by the Namib Desert and on the fourth side by the Atlantic Ocean, Swakopmund is Namibia's busiest resort town and offers
a huge array of activities. With its beaches, promenades, excellent restaurants, and a cooler climate, it is easy to understand why Swakopmund is such
a popular holiday destination for overseas visitors and Namibians alike.
