Cultural Namibia

 

The Cultural Namibia tour gives you the opportunity to not only see some of the many highlights that Namibia has to offer, but also the opportunity to experience the culture and lifestyle of the Namibian people.

From the bustling colonial capital city of Windhoek, to Tsumeb open-air museum depicting Namibian rural life and a San (bushman) traditional village. Finally your tour ends in the Etosha National Park for two days of game driving and your chance to view elephants, lions and rhinos.

This great value tour is operated on behalf of Somak by Springbok Atlas. Transportation is by air-conditioned microbus with maximum numbers of no more than 15.

DAY 1 FRIDAY HEATHROW-WINDHOEK
Fly overnight from Heathrow via Johannesburg to Windhoek.

DAY 2 SATURDAY WINDHOEK
Met on arrival and transferred to your hotel. Overnight: Villa Verdi or similar.

DAY 3 SUNDAY WINDHOEK
Free time in Windhoek. Overnight: Villa Verdi or similar. (b)

DAY 4 MONDAY TSUMEB
Visit Herero graves, Kavango woodcarvers market, Tsumeb open-air museum and a mining museum. Overnight: Makalani Hotel or similar. (b,l,d).

DAY 5 TUESDAY ETOSHA
Travel to Treesleeper Camp, visit a traditional bushman village. After lunch visit Ombili Foundation, an upliftment project for San farmers. Overnight: Mokuti Lodge or similar. (b,l,d).

DAY 6 WEDNESDAY OSHAKATI
Visit bustling Ovamboland, see Nakambale museum at Olukondo, the former Finnish Mission Station and enjoy a traditional lunch at Ngonga homestead. Overnight: Oshakati Country Lodge or similar. (b,l,d).

DAY 7 THURSDAY OPUWO
Drive through flat sandy plains, Makalani palms and Mopane woodlands on route to Opuwo. Overnight: Opuwo Lodge or similar. (b,l,d).

DAY 8 FRIDAY ETOSHA
Enjoy a tour of a Himba tribe settlement, head to Etosha for a game drive. Overnight: Hobatere Lodge or similar. (b,l,d).

DAY 9 SATURDAY ETOSHA
A full day of game viewing in Etosha National Park. Overnight: Okaukuejho Rest Camp or similar. (b,l,d).

DAY 10 SUNDAY WINDHOEK
After a short game drive, return to Windhoek. Overnight: Villa Verdi or similar. (b,l).

DAY 11 MONDAY NAMIB DESERT
Drive via Spreetshoogte Pass to your luxurious lodge bordering the Namib Desert. Overnight: Namib Naukluft Lodge or similar. (b,d)

DAY 12 TUESDAY NAMIB DESERT
Climb the world's highest sand dune at Sossusvlei. In the afternoon enjoy an afternoon nature drive. Overnight Namib Naukluft Lodge or similar. (b,l,d)

DAY 13 WEDNESDAY NAMIB DESERT
A full day at leisure to enjoy the hotel's facilities. Overnight Namib Naukluft Lodge or similar. (b,l,d)

DAY 14 THURSDAY WINDHOEK-HEATHROW
Drive back to Windhoek for your return flight via Johannesburg to Heathrow or your chosen extension. (b)
